From its beginnings in 1902, Goodwill Industries has been known as “the original recycler,” driven to re-use items whenever possible.

The concept of collecting unwanted goods from the community and reselling them to others has expanded throughout the world, funding Goodwill’s services and keeping tons of goods out of the wastestream.

As responsible corporate citizens, Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest also pursues other means of protecting our environment from waste.

As an example, we have a special program for recycling metal parts that sometimes come with donated goods.  Paper and cardboard are recycled, too, along with many other materials.  When we receive clothing and other textiles we cannot sell in our stores, we don’t put them in the garbage.  Instead, we sell them very cheaply to several companies that in turn sell them to countries overseas where any kind of cloth is greatly needed.

We appreciate the assistance of individuals who donate items we can re-sell, rather than having to dispose of goods that are not reusable.

Thanks for your support.
