Chris was a typical all-American teenager who loved school, sports and hanging out with his friends.   

Then tragically he hit his head in a diving accident during a high school picnic. 

Dreams of playing more football and going to college were extinguished by the severe brain injury Chris suffered.

Like so many people who sustain traumatic brain injuries, Chris also experienced a lot of anger, lashing out at family members and others who were trying to help him.

Christopher was referred to Goodwill for assessment of what he might be able to do.
Despite the severity of his challenges, Christopher’s natural charm and lifelong politeness shone through.

During his training, he learned how to adjust to work, control his anger, and prepare to live independently. Today Chris has his own apartment, an office job that he loves, and even benefits like medical coverage.

His mother wrote to us, “Goodwill changed Christopher’s life. You gave us and him hopes for his future.”
