Doing Good With Goodwill

Volunteer Program

Throughout the year we have changing volunteer opportunities and welcome your involvement and assistance.

Why volunteer for Goodwill?

Volunteering at Goodwill is a unique and rewarding experience because you know that all of the work you do directly helps us further our mission of assisting deserving individuals with disabilities and disadvantages. Last Year we helped over 3100 people build independence by providing training, education, and employment.

What can I do for Goodwill?

We have several exciting volunteer opportunities to serve your needs that include one-time-only projects, reoccurring assignments, and our new Special Events Committee.

We also have corporate volunteer opportunities for businesses and groups, such as our successful donation drives with Huckleberry’s Natural Market and Girl Scouts Inland Empire Council.

Please click on the title below to learn more about our current volunteer opportunities.

Donation Drives
We depend on donations of reusable goods from people in our community. One of the most successful ways we obtain them is through donation drives. Volunteers can assist with donation drives in several ways.

Retail Assistants
Volunteers are needed to assist in the preparation of items for our retail stores. Out of every $1.00 Goodwill takes in, 85 cents goes towards funding our programs.

Retail Jewelry Assistant
Do you have knowledge of or interest in jewelry? If so, your help is needed preparing jewelry to be sold in our retail stores.

How do I volunteer for Goodwill?

All volunteers need to be at least 16 years old and successfully pass a Washington State Patrol Background Check.

Please download the Volunteer Registration Form (you will need to have Acrobat Reader installed on your computer) and bring the completed form to our downtown Spokane location at 130 East Third Avenue, any time Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (For areas outside Spokane please contact the Volunteer Coordinator for application instructions.)

At the time you come in you will meet with a volunteer program representative to go over your application, get to know you, answer any questions you may have, and to complete a Washington State Patrol Background Check. Once your application is processed you will need to come back in for a brief orientation and then you will be ready to volunteer!

Contact Information: Volunteer Coordinator, (509) 838-4246.

We appreciate the support of our volunteers and encourage you to join us!
